Ingredients: (makes 1 pint jar) 1 lb cabbage chopped into strips 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes 2 Tbsp mustard seeds Vinegar Salt Sugar or honey
Place cabbage, pepper flakes, and mustard seeds in a jar. Create layers of spice they're evenly distributed.
Boil 1 cup water, 1⁄2 cup red wine or cider vinegar and 1⁄2 cup white vinegar. Add 2 Tbsp salt and 2 Tsp honey or sugar, cook 2 more minutes over high. Once the sugar and salt have dissolved, pour immediately over the jar of cabbage and spices.
Let the mixture sit out at room temp for 2-3 hours before refrigerating. Chill overnight and eat the next day!
